PredictIt Left a 44¢ YES Just Sitting There

A woman winning the 2028 GOP nom is priced at 44¢. JD Vance is 80¢ on the same board. Do the math.

JD Vance is doing a media tour like he's already been coronated, the GOP field is basically him and a bunch of guys named Josh, and yet PredictIt is out here quoting a woman to win the 2028 Republican nomination at 44¢. We looked at it three times. It's still there.

Let's fade some stuff.

Will a woman win the 2028 Republican presidential nomination?

Position: NO at 44¢. Grade: S.

Here's the funny part. On the *same PredictIt board*, the NO on this market trades at 98¢. So one side is telling you the true probability is ~2%, and the other side is telling you it's 44%. Both cannot be right. One of them is very, very wrong.

Our read: true probability is somewhere in the 2–15% range. Vance is the runaway favorite. The bench behind him is DeSantis, Rubio, Youngkin, Hawley — not exactly the Notorious RBG starting five. There's no woman in the current top 5 with real odds.

So you're buying NO at 44¢ on something that should clear at 85¢+. That's not an edge, that's a printer.

What kills it: PredictIt is PredictIt. Fees eat you, the 850-share cap limits size, and these markets can sit dislocated for *months* because nobody can arb them at scale. You might be right and still bored to death waiting.

Will the Republican Party win the NC-09 House seat?

Position: YES at 80¢. Grade: A.

NC-09 is one of the most gerrymandered safe R seats in the country. Cook has it R+7, the district hasn't gone blue since redistricting, and no serious Dem is contesting it in a midterm environment that isn't screaming blue wave.

80¢ implies 80%. We've got this closer to 92%. That's ~12 points of edge on a market that's basically "will water be wet in November."

What kills it: capital efficiency. You're locking up 80¢ to make 20¢, and if you're wrong on the one-in-ten tail scenario (candidate scandal, weird special election dynamics), you eat the full loss. It's an A-grade pick, not an S, because the payout math is what it is.

Will the GOP win Nebraska Governor by 25–30%?

Position: YES at 6¢. Grade: A.

Quick note: our system originally flagged this as a fade and then caught itself mid-sentence. Yes, we put a lot of thought into this, we know.

The real play is BUY YES at 6¢. Nebraska governor races typically blow out in the 20–35 point range. A 5-point bucket in the fat middle of that distribution has ~15–18% mass, not 6%.

You're getting 3-to-1 on what should be closer to even money in the bucket. Lottery ticket math with actual base rates behind it.

What kills it: margin buckets are brutal. Land at 24.8% or 30.2% and you get zero. Being directionally right doesn't pay — you need the exact window.

GL out there. Don't do anything we wouldn't do. (We'd do almost anything.)
