PredictIt Is Handing Out Free Money on the 2028 GOP Ticket

One market has YES and NO both trading like they're the favorite. That's not how math works.

It's late August 2026, midterms are two months out, and prediction market Twitter is already three moves ahead arguing about 2028. Good. That's where the soft lines live. Everyone's staring at the shiny NY governor market while PredictIt quietly leaves a wallet on the sidewalk.

Let's grab it.

Will a woman win the 2028 Republican presidential nomination?

Position: NO at 98¢... wait, what?

Here's the setup. PredictIt has YES at 44¢. Cool. Meanwhile JD Vance alone is trading at 45¢ to win that same nomination. Vance is not, last we checked, a woman.

So either the entire field of women is worth more than the sitting VP favorite, or someone forgot to update a market. Our model says the true probability of a woman winning is closer to 12%, which means NO should be around 88¢, not whatever soft number is sitting there.

This is the definition of an S-grade arb-adjacent play. The AI basically flagged it and refused to shut up about it.

What kills it: PredictIt caps, fees, and the fact that your money is locked up until 2028. You're not getting rich quick — you're getting rich slow. But the edge is real.

Will PPI YoY be 5.1% or more in August?

Polymarket has this at 40¢ YES. We're taking NO.

Recent PPI prints have been cruising in the 2–3% range. Getting to 5.1% YoY in a single August print would require a full-blown supply shock — think oil spike, tariff bomb, something that shows up on the front page of every paper.

None of that is in the news context. Base rate says NO clears easily. We've got true probability around 62% NO, market's giving you 60¢ to win 40. That's the juice we like.

What kills it: A surprise print. PPI is volatile and one nasty energy month can nuke this. But you're getting priced like it's a coinflip on something that historically isn't close.

Will the Dem win NY-14 by 65% or more?

AOC's district. Polymarket has YES at 34¢. We think it should be closer to 55¢.

NY-14 has been a Democratic bloodbath for years. AOC won by margins that make this 65% threshold look like a layup, not a stretch goal. The market is pricing in some kind of dramatic swing that has zero evidence behind it.

Edge Score: 21/100, S-grade. Not the biggest number on the board, but the reasoning is clean and the base rate does the heavy lifting.

What kills it: Turnout weirdness in a midterm, a third-party spoiler, or AOC underperforming her own ceiling. Margin bets are always spicier than straight win bets — that's why they pay.

Three S-grades on the board, one of which is basically a math error. Yes, we put a lot of thought into this. We know.

GL out there. Fade responsibly. (We won't.)
