Free Money Thursday: Three Markets Priced Like the Answer Is Already In

Sometimes the edge isn't finding the mispriced coin flip. Sometimes it's just picking up the pennies nobody bothered to grab.

Jackson Hole is still humming, Nvidia just reminded everyone the AI trade isn't dead, and somewhere in Brazil there's a Senate race nobody outside Piauí can pronounce. Perfect Thursday for the AI to hand us a slate of markets that are basically already resolved — we just have to walk over and pick up the change.

Yes, we know. Betting NO at 99¢ isn't sexy. Nobody's screenshotting a 1% ROI to the group chat. But this is how the sharps eat while the rest of Twitter is chasing +400 parlays into oblivion.

Will the next Google Gemini Pro model be released on August 27, 2026?

Market says 1%. We say closer to 99% NO.

Single-day release windows on frontier models are basically a tax on people who saw a rumor tweet. Google doesn't ship a Gemini Pro on a random Thursday with zero pre-announcement, zero DeepMind blog teaser, zero leaks from the usual suspects.

The edge here is boring but real: 99¢ for a NO that resolves in a matter of hours. It's a savings account with a resolution deadline.

What kills it? Sundar walks on stage tonight and surprise-drops it. It's happened before with other labs. We're not saying zero risk — we're saying the market already gave you 99% of the pie.

Will S&P 500 (SPY) hit $690 (LOW) in August?

SPY would need to crash into the floor in the next two trading days to trigger this. With Nvidia earnings landing bullish and Powell not blowing up Jackson Hole, that's… not the setup.

Market has NO at 99¢. We think it's more like 98–99%. Basically fair, tiny edge, but the edge is the certainty. Two trading days, a market grinding sideways-to-up, and a strike price that would require a legitimate flash crash.

What kills it? A black swan. Geopolitical shock, a bank we forgot about, Powell fumbling the mic. Real risk, small probability. That's the trade.

Will Canada expel the US ambassador in 2026?

This is the one we actually laughed at. Market has expulsion at 2%. We have it at maybe 3%, and that's being polite to whoever's holding YES.

Canada and the US are in a trade slap-fight, sure. Trump's saying things. Carney's saying things back. But expelling an ambassador is the diplomatic equivalent of flipping the table — it's what you do right before things get genuinely serious, not while you're negotiating tariffs on lumber.

You're getting 98¢ on a NO that has four months to play out. That's the tradeoff — time is the enemy of every NO bet. A lot can happen between now and December.

What kills it? Things escalate faster than anyone thinks. We don't love the tail risk here as much as the Gemini one, but the price still makes sense.

Stack the pennies, avoid the steamroller. GL out there.

(And no, we're not putting our rent on a 99¢ NO. You shouldn't either.)
