August 6 Edge Report: Five Kalshi Mispricings Screaming Value Right Now
From impeachment overpricing to a Republican Senate hold trading 20 points cheap, today's Kalshi board is littered with soft numbers. Here's how to attack them.
Kalshi's political book is wide open today. Five separate contracts are mispriced by margins that would embarrass a Vegas sportsbook, and four of them are on the same side of the ledger: fading longshot narratives that retail traders keep buying. Let's break down where the edge lives.
Pick 1: Trump Impeachment Before 2028 — NO at 34¢ (S-Grade)
This is the sharpest number on the board. Kalshi is implying a 32% chance Trump gets impeached before 2028. Our model puts true probability at 8%.
The math here isn't complicated. Impeachment requires a majority vote in the House of Representatives. Republicans control the chamber, and even with a bad midterm outcome, a Democratic House flipping in November 2026 would have roughly 12 months to draft articles, hold hearings, and vote — all while a lame-duck Trump administration burns clock. Historically, impeachment happens roughly once per generation. Pricing it at nearly one-in-three is a retail tax on people who confuse "outrage" with "probability."
Buying NO at 34¢ gives you a 66¢ payout on an event our model says resolves your way 92% of the time. That's a monster expected value line. This is the play of the day.
Pick 2: 2026 Senate — Republican Hold at 55¢ (A-Grade)
The 2026 Senate map is one of the friendliest GOP maps in a decade. Democrats are defending seats in Georgia, Michigan, and New Hampshire while Republicans have very few genuinely vulnerable incumbents. OddsShopper's panel blend has Republican hold at ~75%, and Kalshi is giving it to you at 55%.
A 20-point spread between implied and true probability is the kind of gap that only exists because casual traders anchor to generic "midterm backlash" narratives without looking at which specific seats are up. Structural map advantages don't care about presidential approval swings when you only need to hold, not gain.
Buy Republican hold at 55¢. If our model is right, this is closer to a 75¢ contract by Election Day 2026 — and probably higher once individual race polling firms up in Q3.
Pick 3: Ossoff as 2028 Democratic Nominee — NO at 85.5¢ (A-Grade)
Jon Ossoff is a first-term senator from Georgia running for reelection in a state Trump won. He's not a national fundraising juggernaut, he doesn't have a signature legislative accomplishment, and he'll spend all of 2026 fighting for his own political life. The idea that he pivots from a bruising reelection (win or lose) into a viable 2028 presidential run is a fantasy.
Kalshi is implying 14.5%. Our model says 1.3%. Buying NO at 85.5¢ locks in a small but essentially free 14.5¢ of edge on a contract that resolves cleanly. This is a bankroll-builder — not sexy, but the kind of position that quietly compounds.
Pick 4: Newsom as 2028 Democratic Nominee — NO at 72¢ (A-Grade)
This one requires more nuance. Newsom is a real contender — I'm not fading him because he's a joke. I'm fading him because 29% is frontrunner pricing in a field that has no frontrunner.
Shapiro just won a swing-state governorship and has crossover appeal Newsom doesn't. Whitmer has a Midwest brand. AOC has the activist base. Add in dark horses (Beshear, Moore, Buttigieg 2.0) and you're looking at a genuinely open primary. In a field of 5-7 credible candidates, nobody should be priced at 29% this far out. Our model has Newsom at 17% — still second or third in the pack, just not artificially inflated.
Buy NO at 72¢. You're getting paid to fade recency bias from California media coverage.
Pick 5: SAVE Act Becomes Law — NO at 88¢ (A-Grade)
The smallest edge on the board, but the highest confidence. The SAVE Act has passed the House before and died in the Senate. Nothing about the current 60-vote filibuster math has changed. Kalshi is implying 13% YES — our model says 5%.
At 88¢, the absolute return is small, but the probability of resolution in your favor is very high. Treat this as a hedge or portfolio filler, not a headline bet.
Bottom Line
Today's board rewards discipline over drama. The impeachment NO at 34¢ is the ticket to circle — S-grade edge, clean thesis, structural math on your side. The Senate hold at 55¢ is the second-best line. The rest are grinders. Size accordingly, and don't chase the narrative — chase the number.
